Devised Theater is the act of working alongside fellow artists to create a unique and impossible to replicate theatrical performance without the use of a pre-existing script. What makes this form of art unique is that each person involved in the event is both a collaborator as well as a performer. A devised piece of theater can literally start with anything as a prompt: a painting, a song, a real-life event, a novel to adapt, etc. Devised Theater is collaborative storytelling where you get to live the story.
It’s personal, it’s immediate, and it is never the same experience twice. -
Yes, it absolutely is!
Beyond the Gates events are for everyone - young, old, professional, beginner, and everyone in-between. Some people come for the community, others for the game, and others just to enjoy the festivities. You are encouraged to come as you are, be that while wearing a band shirt and a pair of jeans, or expertly crafted elf ears and a flowing silk robe.

Our Merchant Market and Fairgrounds are perfect for those interested in enjoying a relaxing day filled with delightful live musical performances, delicious meals from local food vendors, and experiencing the wonder and spectacle of a medieval fair.
For those interested in dipping their toes into the “game” of Beyond the Gates, we have four fantastic Guilds for our guests to join and explore. Learn new skills, earn titles and awards, and discover what secrets the Citizens of Draile may be trying to keep out of the public eye.
Or… if you’re interested, our Rangers have recently returned from their expedition with the most curious object… never mind, I’m sure you’re far too busy to help with that…

We still have a Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy to set expectations for guests and staff alike. Our actors and staff members are people just like you and I, and the safety of our staff and guests comes first.
